Michael Warshaw

The Innovative Chemist Behind MW Labs

Michael WarshawAs president of MW Laboratories, Inc., I am responsible for all aspects of operation, from pharmaceutical research, development, and testing to manufacturing and distribution. I will help you formulate and produce aesthetic or medical skin products under your own private label. I’m here to help you and your patients in all aspects of skin restoration and protection.

MW Laboratories has been a leader in medical and aesthetic skin-care treatment for more than 26 years.

This patent-holding, award-winning company has been a pioneer in the use of vitamin therapy, anti-oxidants, and natural ingredients, and it has distinguished itself from others in the industry by focusing on the optimal ways those ingredients interact. The result is carefully combined product ingredients that help to ensure maximum effectiveness with minimal contraindications.

Behind these advances in aesthetic and pharmaceutical skin care is MW Labs founder and owner Michael A. Warshaw.

Education and Associations

A native of Savannah, Georgia, and a 1975 graduate of Benedictine Military School, Warshaw received a BS in chemistry from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 1980. After completing more than 750 hours of training, Warshaw received professional licensure in skin-care aesthetics from the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology.

Approved by that same board as a lecturer for continuing education credits, Warshaw also has accepted several public speaking engagements over the years before both the medical and lay communities. He has focused on such topics as food and skin allergy relationships, proper skin care, the advantageousness of natural ingredients over synthetics, and proper hormone replacement therapy. He is a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.

Early Experience

Successful right out of college, Warshaw first became a chemist for Carson Products, a Savannah manufacturer of skin and hair care products that is now owned by L'Oréal of Paris. By 1983 he had become the manager of chemical manufacturing at Revlon, Inc., maker of a wide variety of cosmetic and skin-care products.

As a chemist with Analyst, Inc., Warshaw became knowledgeable about the use of so many harmful chemicals in products designed for human use. His utilization of natural, non-toxic ingredients in MW Lab products was born of this early experience.

Warshaw expanded his interest in human health while working as a process improvement manager with Schmid Laboratories, maker of a variety of health care and reproductive products. While working at Schmid, Warshaw began formulating his own skin-care products, pioneering vitamin C skin therapy and opening The Skin Connection Spa in the tony Sandy Springs neighborhood of Atlanta in 1986.

MW Laboratories Inc.
That same year Warshaw had MW Laboratories up and running, producing post-operative creams, serums, lotions, and other skin-care products. In 1990, he replaced The Skin Connection Spa with Warshaw Skin Systems and Treatment Facilities, a multi-faceted center serving aesthetic and medical concerns.

By 1996 Warshaw had moved his laboratory to Savannah, where he soon developed a host of products that utilize vitamin therapy, agents of cell metabolism, and natural ingredients. Mining his background in oceanic science and inspired by his coastal location, Warshaw created a number of products that harness the healing power of marine algae.

In addition to pioneering vitamin C skin therapy, Warshaw also has been a leader in the field of anti-oxidants. In 1997 he received a patent for glutathione/selenium, a combination which reduces oxidative stress and the potential for skin cancer. His medical successes include a formula for a private label anti-bruising cream that won the 2007 34th Annual Cosmetic Innovators Award, given by Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors, Inc.

Interviewed on numerous occasions, Warshaw also has appeared in magazines and newspapers and on television.
